Packed Lunch Ideas
![]()
Whether squeezing it in before heading to school or preparing it the night before, dealing with what to put in your child’s lunch box can feel overwhelming, not to mention navigating what they may or may not like that week! We are often asked “what sort of things should I put in their lunch box? ” or ” how much is too much?”
Ideally children should have a range of fruit, vegetables and carbohydrates with a small healthy treat to finish. Shown above we have put together some example lunch boxes, from traditional sandwiches to grazing board do it yourself ideas. Hot food in a food flask is also an excellent option supplemented with some fruit. The samples also indicate the amount children of this age typically need – not so much that it looks over whelming when they open the lid but enough to support them through an active day.
At Ramsbury Preschool we encourage all children to focus on their fruit and vegetables before accessing any form of treat.
